Act 1977 and courses are open to all members of the
community over the age of 15 years. Younger
participants may enrol if accompanied by a
fee-paying adult. Please note: in the interests of
student learning, it is a policy of the College that
children do not accompany their parents to class.

COURSE INFORMATION:
Course information is accurate at time of
publication. If details change you will be notified
of the changes. Students are welcome to seek further
information including details of Training Package
modules at any time.

FEES:
Fees are payable on enrolment. For accredited courses being run
over six or twelve months, a payment installment
arrangement may be made with the college. Please
enquire at the college office.

CONFIRMATION OF
ENROLMENT:
Enrolment confirmation and receipts are provided to all students.
Course details should be checked as no further
information will be provided.

MATERIALS:
The fee shown for each course covers tuition only. If students
are required to purchase kits and/or materials from
the tutor on the first night, this will be noted in
the course details in the brochure. Please do not
include this cost with your enrolment fee – the
tutor should be paid separately.

REFUND POLICY:
Refunds are only given when a course is cancelled by the College.
In such circumstances, students have the option of
receiving a full refund, or transferring to another
course. The College reserves the right to
alter/cancel any of the arrangements in the brochure
The College does not accept responsibility for
changes in students’ personal circumstances and it
is therefore important that students choose their
course carefully.

CERTIFICATES:
Certificates and/or Statements of Attainment will be issued for VET
courses subject to satisfactory assessment, as
provided in the course information sheets. Students
may apply for a Certificate of Attendance (for
selected courses) if you attend a minimum of 80% of
the course. Please see your tutor.

RECOGNITION:
Hawkesbury Community College recognises the AQF qualifications and statements
of attainment issued by any other RTO.

RECOGNITION
OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL):
RPL
is available for all courses offered on Hawkesbury
Community College’s RTO scope. If students feel they
have already acquired competence, either formally or
informally, in a unit, module or a complete
qualification, they may apply for RPL. Students
should contact the office for an RPL kit, which
contains an RPL application form, units/modules
assessment requirements, types of evidence required
and likely fees. There will be a scoping interview
to discuss likely success of application. If the
assessor feels the student has a good chance of
success fees will be paid and the process continued.
There is no charge up to the scoping interview. As
requirements for RPL may differ for each course,
specific details are discussed during the scoping
interview.

FLEXIBILE LEARNING:
The college offers flexible learning to cater for
different needs, and courses can be taken in a
conventional classroom situation, one-on-one,
distance or on-line. See the course brochure for
more information.

ACCESS AND EQUITY :
Courses offered by the college are open to all
members of the community. Any students with a
disability may bring a support person to classes for
no extra charge. Students have access to their own
college records.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY:
Training takes place in a training room that has
adequate lighting and ventilation. Specific
emergency evacuation procedures are given at course
commencement.

will be sent a course brochure each term. Members
are also entitled to vote on matters relating to the
college's operations at the Annual General Meeting.

STUDENT FEEDBACK:
It is extremely helpful if students are able to
provide feedback that the college can use in its
quest for continuous improvement. Accordingly,
students will be sent a Student Feedback Form at the
end of each course for completion and return in the
envelope provided. Student feedback is anonymous,
as there is no requirement on the form for students
to identify themselves.

confidentiality of information at all times.

CREDIT CARD DETAILS:

WORKING WITH
CHILDREN CHECK:
Child protection legislation makes it an offence for a

with children under 18. The college accepts students
from 15 years of age and it is therefore college
policy that all tutors need to complete a prohibited
employment declaration before teaching at the
college.

CODE OF PRACTICE:
A copy of the college’s Code of Practice is
available on request or available on the college
website.

STUDENT SUPPORT:
The college aims to assist students to the best of

welfare support and career guidance depending on
needs.

Classes do not run on public holidays.

FLOODS:
Phone 4588 5466 for information and a recorded
message. It is college policy to postpone ALL
courses in ALL centres if any major roads are cut

student is disadvantaged. Any lessons missed are
added at the end of the term.

While every effort is made to ensure the information
provided by our course brochure and website is
correct, the college cannot be held responsible for
any necessary changes to the information.
